BHS Students Compete in the Texas Relays at the University of Texas

Five BHS students competed in the Texas Relays over the weekend. The Sprint Relay team consisted of Trey Grant, Jaxson Denton, Bradyn McPherson and Blaine Burkhalter.They ran against some of the fastest Sprint Relay teams in the state and competed very well.

Ian Carter, senior, also competed in the 110 hurdles. Only the top 27 hurdlers in the state were invited to compete. After Friday's preliminaries, Ian had the second fastest time, which qualified him for the finals. This is Ian's third time to compete at the Texas Relays. The past two years he has captured a bronze, and a silver. This year he got off to a blazing start and WON THE GOLD!

Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest

Congratulations to these students who won all three places in Burnet County! In addition, these students will be awarded a scholarship at the VFW in Marble Falls on Saturday, April 7th. This contest is sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary. Paige Adams won first place and will be moving to area, Jorden Berryman won second place and Rayn Tommbelly won third place. Congratulations to these outstanding artists!

Congratulations Jayci Craig! Student of the Month March, 2018

Jaci Craig is a multiple sport student athlete and has been instrumental in the success of girls athletics during her time at BHS. Jayci has maintained a 95 grade point average throughout her high school career and has been accepted into the Honors College at Tarleton State University. She plans to major in special education and hopes to work with elementary children.

Cole Younger Named March Student of the Month!

Boys Basketball Coach Roy Kiser introduced Cole Younger as BHS Student of the Month for March, 2018. Coach Kiser remarked Cole was a crucial part of the success this year in basketball and he led his team off of the court as well. Cole will be attending San Angelo State University and majoring in Kinesiology. Cole has been a leader at Burnet High School and exemplifies Spirit, Pride and Honor. Congratulations Cole!

Jess Luther and Jazlyn Marvin capture the Bronze Medal at the 2018 CX Debate State Meet over Spring Break. Out of 59 teams in Conference 4A vying for top medals, Jess and Jazlyn proudly placed third- a new CX Debate record for Burnet High School. Spirit, Pride and Honor Jess and Jazlyn!
