Principal's Message

October - 2018
As October begins, it marks the end of the first six weeks and many exciting Fall activities at Burnet High School.  At the end of September, we had an amazing homecoming week and perhaps the best bonfire to date.  We are all "on fire" to begin the second six weeks!  As October ramps up, so do many student organization competitions such as EDC, UIL Academics, and FFA Judging Teams.  We ask that parents help support their student by helping them stay on top of their calendar and assignment due dates.  Each student at BHS is keeping an agenda and calendar to help them with this important organizational and life skill.  We are asking that every single student get involved in some activity or organization this year to help set them up for success.  We encourage parents to discuss the best activity or organization for their child.  October also begins with our first FAFSA parent work night on October 1st at 6:30 pm in the BHS library.  We hope to see all of our Senior parents there.
Howdy!  I am proud to call Burnet my home and to be a Burnet Bulldog.  During my time as principal at Burnet High School, I have seen a wonderful culture of Spirit, Pride, and Honor develop and am so proud of the staff and students for all of their accomplishments - most recently the increase in student achievement on ELA and Math EOC assessments.  I hold a Mathematics degree from the University of Texas and n Educational Leadership degree form Sul Ross.  I have served consecutive terms as the chair of the Austin Community College TechPrep Board and am currently servicing as Region 13 Board Member on the Texas Association of Secondary Principals Board.  I work to serve all teachers and students' best academic interests and needs by ensuring state-of-the-art programs and opportunities are in place at Burnet High School.  Together, we are Crafting the Future - a future of Spirit, Pride, and Honor.
