Principal's Message

November - 2018

There are a lot of exciting things taking place at Burnet High School this month.  Please check our website frequently to ensure you and your student are up to date on what is coming up.  I want to give a BIG shout out to the EDC who will be marching at the State UIL Marching Contest next week.  We are so proud of these students and directors!

At Burnet High School we are crafting a Culture of Excellence, and you all know that means Spirit, Pride, and Honor for us.  Seventy student leaders from across all student groups recently participated in a half-day leadership.  Investing in our students and cultivating their leadership is an investment into their future and the future of BHS.

While we have amazing students at BHS, we also know that many of them are facing circumstances that young people should not face.  One of the most impactful factors in a child’s success in high school and after is a meaningful relationship with an adult that helps guide them and champions for them.  We want to encourage you to be involved and active in your child’s life and in their friends’.  By ensuring that every child and their friends have someone who cares about them, we will not only foster our Culture of Excellence, but also keep our school safer.

As always, if there is anything we can do to better support you, please do not hesitate to call.

Howdy!  I am proud to call Burnet my home and to be a Burnet Bulldog.  During my time as principal at Burnet High School, I have seen a wonderful culture of Spirit, Pride, and Honor develop and am so proud of the staff and students for all of their accomplishments - most recently the increase in student achievement on ELA and Math EOC assessments.  I hold a Mathematics degree from the University of Texas and n Educational Leadership degree form Sul Ross.  I have served consecutive terms as the chair of the Austin Community College TechPrep Board and am currently servicing as Region 13 Board Member on the Texas Association of Secondary Principals Board.  I work to serve all teachers and students' best academic interests and needs by ensuring state-of-the-art programs and opportunities are in place at Burnet High School.  Together, we are Crafting the Future - a future of Spirit, Pride, and Honor.
