Principal's Message

September - 2017

As September begins, the students really begin to settle into routines in their classes and day at BHS, and all of the Fall activities are cranking up.  We recommend that you work with your student to develop a way for them to calendar their days and weeks.  It can be difficult for students to manage everything in their lives, and we encourage students to get involved in multiple activities.  Teachers will support this through their weekly agendas and daily learning targets to help students stay organized.  The end of the first six weeks will be fast approaching, so please encourage and support your student in maintaining a strong academic focus.

Howdy!  I am proud to call Burnet my home and to be a Burnet Bulldog.  During my time as principal at Burnet High School, I have seen a wonderful culture of Spirit, Pride, and Honor develop and am so proud of the staff and students for all of their accomplishments - most recently the increase in student achievement on ELA and Math EOC assessments.  I hold a Mathematics degree from the University of Texas and n Educational Leadership degree form Sul Ross.  I have served consecutive terms as the chair of the Austin Community College TechPrep Board and am currently servicing as Region 13 Board Member on the Texas Association of Secondary Principals Board.  I work to serve all teachers and students' best academic interests and needs by ensuring state-of-the-art programs and opportunities are in place at Burnet High School.  Together, we are Crafting the Future - a future of Spirit, Pride, and Honor.
