Principal's Message

Spring 2021

Happy New Year to you and yours! I think I speak for the majority when I say that it is a relief that we finally made it through 2020. However, I am also very thankful for the many valuable lessons learned and experiences gained this past year...I truly believe they have made me a better man in my personal life, as well as my role as principal of BHS. The most important lesson I learned being that when we all work together, there is nothing that we can't accomplish! I am humbled to be able to come to work each day and be surrounded by teachers and students who inspire me on a daily basis through their love for others and their willingness to make BHS the best it can possibly be.

Here are just a few of the events we have coming up (be sure to check the calendar for more details and events).

Our doors are always open and there is much to do to ensure the success of our students. Please do not hesitate to stop by, call or email to discuss any concerns you may have or to offer suggestions and ideas to help us accomplish our goals.

Howdy!  I am proud to call Burnet my home and to be a Burnet Bulldog.  During my time as principal at Burnet High School, I have seen a wonderful culture of Spirit, Pride, and Honor develop and am so proud of the staff and students for all of their accomplishments - most recently the increase in student achievement on ELA and Math EOC assessments.  I hold a Mathematics degree from the University of Texas and an Educational Leadership degree form Sul Ross.  I have served consecutive terms as the chair of the Austin Community College Tech Prep Board and am currently servicing as Region 13 Board Member on the Texas Association of Secondary Principals Board.  I work to serve all teachers and students' best academic interests and needs by ensuring that state-of-the-art programs and opportunities are in place at Burnet High School.  Together, we are Crafting the Future - a future of Spirit, Pride, and Honor.
