The Lighthouse Culture team has taken on a fun and creative project! Students are bringing their ideas to life by painting the windows of each building to showcase the classes inside. Each design was created by the students, who are working together to turn their visions into colorful works of art. We love seeing their creativity, collaboration, and school pride shine through!

In August 2026, the College Board recognized thousands of high-achieving students nationwide through its National Recognition Programs. These honors celebrate students who demonstrate academic excellence on PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, and AP Exams. The five programs recognize African American, Hispanic, Indigenous students, students from rural and small-town communities, and first-generation college students. These awards celebrate student achievement and help connect recipients with colleges seeking talented students. Congratulations to our College Board Awardees!!

At BHS, students who demonstrate Spirit, Pride, and Honor can earn a Bulldog Coin! Each coin earns students 10 tickets to enter our lunchtime prize drawings. This week, we drew names and are excited to announce our winners! Congratulations to all of our lucky winners! We are so proud of our Bulldogs for living out our school values, inspiring others, and making a positive difference on our campus. Keep showing that Bulldog spirit!

Each day will feature a different theme, so check the schedule, plan your outfits, and show your school spirit as we stand together for a drug-free future. Adult Learning and Modeling is an important part of our Leader in Me Leadership Framework and how we lead at Burnet High School. We believe some of our greatest resources are the talented educators right here on our campus!

This past Monday, during our student holiday, BHS staff engaged in collaborative professional learning, sharing strategies they use to check for understanding in their classrooms. Teachers learned from one another, explored practical techniques, and discussed how to ensure students are truly mastering what they are learning.

By modeling continuous learning, collaboration, and a commitment to growth, our staff demonstrates the same leadership principles we strive to develop in our students.

Our U.S. History students took their learning to the next level with an immersive WWI virtual reality experience, exploring life in the trenches on the Western Front! Students also got a firsthand look at WWI artifacts from Mr. Copsetta's personal collection, helping bring history to life and deepen their understanding of the challenges soldiers faced.

Help us make a difference in our community! From September 29–October 23, BHS students will compete against other advisory classes to see who can collect the most canned goods to donate to La Care. Want another way to help? We’ll also have a donation box at Trunk or Treat on October 21st! Bring a canned good and help us fill the box! Let’s come together to support our community!
