The Math Department has selected two outstanding students, Sarah Cullison and Cason O'Hair, as the Students of the Month. These students were selected not only for their academic success, but also for their character, leadership, and their embodiment of our school’s core values — Spirit, Pride, and Honor.
Sarah Cullison
Sarah is a remarkable student whose dedication and perseverance make her a standout in the classroom. Her teachers shared the following about her:
“Sarah is a hard-working student who is a joy to be around. She has pushed herself in her math classes and persevered even when things have been challenging. She is a student who doesn’t just go through the motions, but truly desires to learn. Sarah demonstrates a willingness to put in the hard work and grit needed, and she always tries her best. Her dedication, positive attitude, and perseverance make her a role model for her peers, and it is a privilege to celebrate her contributions to our classroom and school community.”
Beyond the classroom, Sarah competes in volleyball and track and field, where she demonstrates teamwork, determination, and leadership. She is also an active member of HOSA, where she competed in Forensic Science. Looking toward the future, Sarah plans to attend The University of Texas at Austin and study Pre-Pharmacy or Kinesiology.
Sarah’s motivation, strong character, and commitment to excellence truly embody the values of Spirit, Pride, and Honor.
Cason O’Hair
Cason is an exceptional student who consistently demonstrates dedication, leadership, and integrity in all that he does. His teacher shared the following about him:
“Cason is a joy to have in class. He approaches each day with focus, enthusiasm, and a genuine curiosity for learning. Always present both physically and mentally, Cason consistently gives his best effort, demonstrating a strong and collaborative work ethic. These are skills that are hard to teach and will benefit him immensely in his future endeavors. Beyond the classroom, he is a dedicated leader in our athletic program, modeling perseverance, discipline, and teamwork. Cason is not simply a student, but a true scholar, and it is a privilege to celebrate his contributions to the classroom and our school community with his unwavering commitment to excellence. He has an incredibly bright future in front of him, and having him in the classroom has an overwhelmingly positive impact on the learning environment for his peers.”
In addition to his academic success, Cason is involved in football, baseball, and track and field. He is also a Spirit, Pride, and Honor Leader and has been a Highlandette manager. In all these roles, Cason exemplifies the qualities we value most — commitment, humility, and school pride.
Cason is currently applying to The University of Texas and Texas A&M University, with his major still undecided. No matter which path he chooses, there is no doubt that his strong character and drive for excellence will lead him to great success.
