Miley has been a servant leader to our Burnet FFA chapter for the past 3 years, with two of those serving as our Burnet FFA President. She has also served as a Bluebonnet FFA district officer. Her preferred judging teams are Wildlife and Agronomy. She has also been on the FFA Quiz team, FFA Radio broadcasting team as well as the Ag Advocacy team. Miley has also been a leader on the Burnet FFA BBQ team where they placed 8th in the Nation last summer.
One of her passions is her Community Service Committee, and Miley takes this very seriously. From backpacks to schools, Christmas cards to the nursing homes, Thanksgiving dinner to the needy or Halloween costumes for those who cannot afford one. This is one of her favorite FFA activities. During the devastating floods in the Hill Country, Miley took on a huge role along with her fellow FFA members helping our local Burnet residents providing cleanup help, fence repair and donation distribution.
Miley is the first to volunteer to help anyone in need and is always one of the first to show up and one of the last to leave at our FFA Chapter events. She is a role model for our Junior FFA students in the Cattle Barn as well as the angora goat barn, where they all look up to her.
Miley has been very successful showing steers since she was in the third grade. She has recently added heifers to her SAE when she won a calf in the Ft Worth Stock Show Calf scramble. For the past 7 years she has been showing Angora muttons where she has been highly successful at the county show level as well as the San Angelo Stock Show being named Grand Champion.
At school, Miley is a member of SPH - The Spirit, Pride and Honor group that creates bonds between the students to the teachers and administration.
After graduating from High School, Miley plans to attend Texas ATM or Tarleton State University and major in Animal Science. After that she will attend a livestock chiropractic school and plans to specialize in large animals.
Miley Evans is a true servant leader of our FFA Chapter and is an excellent candidate for the FFA Rotary student of the month.
