Congratulations Camryn Courtney & Rhett Murray, BHS Students of the Month!

Camryn and Rhett were selected as Students of the Month by the Athletics Department.

From Coach Shipley:

It is my great honor to recognize an outstanding student athlete who exemplifies excellence in every sense of the word. Our Student of the Month, Camryn Courtney, is a shining example of hard work, dedication, and leadership—both in the classroom and on the field of competition.

Camryn has made an incredible impact as a student-athlete. She is a three-year varsity starter for our volleyball team and has earned numerous accolades throughout her career. As a sophomore, she was named District Co-Newcomer of the Year and helped lead her team to a district championship. She continued to excel, earning First Team All-District honors as a junior and Honorable Mention All-District as a senior. She has been recognized as an Academic All-District athlete all three years and was named First Team Academic All-State her senior year. Beyond that, her leadership shined as a team captain, and she was named Co-Offensive MVP in both her sophomore and junior seasons. In her senior year, she received the prestigious Super Setter Legacy Award.

Her success extends to the track, where she has been a four-year varsity athlete. She has competed at Texas Relays three times (going this Friday), qualified for area three years, and reached regionals twice. This season, she continues to push herself, striving for another regional appearance. She and her 4x400 relay team are just four-hundredths of a second away from breaking the school record—a testament to her relentless drive and competitive spirit. In addition, she was named the Fighting Heart of her team as a sophomore, a reflection of the passion and resilience she brings to everything she does.

But Camryn’s achievements go far beyond athletics. She is just as exceptional in the classroom, ranking second in her class with an incredible 4.7 GPA. She has maintained A Honor Roll status throughout high school and has earned Top Scholar recognition in Health Science, Medical Terminology, and dual credit Spanish. She was also chosen for the SPH award as a freshman. In addition to her academic success, Camryn has been a dedicated member of the National Honor Society for three years, an Interact member for three years, and an AVID participant for all four years of high school.

Her hard work and dedication have paved the way for a bright future. After high school, Camryn plans to attend Texas State University to major in Health Sciences, where there is no doubt she will continue to achieve greatness.

Camryn, your commitment to excellence, your leadership, and your heart inspire all of us. Congratulations on this well-earned recognition. We are so proud of you, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things you will accomplish in the future.
