From Joe Cox, Director of Bands:
It is my honor to recognize an extraordinary student who embodies dedication, talent, and leadership—our Burnet High School Band Student of the Month, David Jones.
David, a senior and accomplished clarinet player, is in his seventh year as a member of the Burnet Band. This year, David was the featured soloist in our fall marching band production. He consistently delivered an outstanding performance at every show. His hard work and dedication has made him an outstanding clarinet player who has a very bright future.
David's accomplishments speak volumes about his commitment to excellence. He has qualified for Region Band every year of high school, Last year he was first chair in the region. He has advanced to the Area level all three years he has competed so far and he is on pace to do it again this year.
David's contributions to the Burnet Band go far beyond his talent. For the past three years, he has served as a student leader in the Esprit de Corps, leading with humility, positivity, and a true sense of service. He is a role model to his peers, showing that hard work, focus, and kindness are the keys to success.
David's dedication extends beyond music. He has been recognized twice by the College Board, he maintains a strong academic record, holds down a job, and is actively involved in his church. Balancing all these responsibilities is no easy feat, but David does it with grace and an unwavering commitment to his values.
After high school, David plans to attend Hardin-Simmons or Baylor where he will major in Ministry.
David is an inspiration to his peers and he embodies Spirit, Pride, and Honor at the highest level. We are so proud of all David has accomplished and excited to see all that lies ahead for him.
