The UIL Academic coaches have chosen Alaina Clark as our outstanding student.
Alaina has been competing in UIL Spelling for 3 years. She has improved her scores each year, medaling in invitational meets and also our district meet. She is a 2 time gold medal team winner, and won the district individual championship last month. Last weekend, she and her teammates won the Region 3-4A championship and they will compete in two weeks at the State UIL Academic meet at the University of Texas for the state championship.
Although Alaina will graduate in a few weeks, she has already begun talking to the younger students about making sure that the new spellers next year get dialed in early and continue to carry on the tradition in UIL Spelling. We will miss her leadership, but want to encourage and support her as she moves forward with her plans of completing her degree at Texas Tech University this fall.
