Congratulations to Ivan Leon and Cadence Pierce, BHS Students of the Month for April!

Cadence Pierce –

From Mr. Copsetta, Intro to Culinary teacher: Cadence always puts 100% effort into everything she does both in the classroom and on the soccer field. She is willing to actively participate in groups or by herself in the kitchen and has a strong sense of initiative. She is truly an example of Spirit, Pride, and Honor. Other Teachers tell me that she is a good leader, is pleasant to be around and participates well in class. She is always in a good mood. She is a leader in our Leader in Me activities. She shows leadership on and off of the Soccer field.

Cadence is undecided on her college choice, but she plans to do something in the mechanic field.

Ivan Leon –

From Mr. Trower, Computer Science teacher: Ivan Leon embodies the spirit of leadership and mentorship within
our campus, serving as a guiding light for his peers. Despite initially being unfamiliar with Microsoft Office, Ivan courageously stepped forward to compete as part of our UIL Computer Applications and Computer Science team for the past two years. His dedication to excellence shines through as he consistently excels academically, effortlessly grasping and applying complex concepts. Ivan is not only a model student but also a young man of exceptional character, exemplifying a friendly demeanor and unwavering commitment to his academics and extracurricular activities. His contributions to our school community, marked by his embodiment of Spirit, Pride, and Honor, make him a truly invaluable member of our school community.

From Mr. Evans, Ag Metal Teacher: I have had the pleasure to teach Ivan for the last couple of years. Ivan is a very quiet individual but shows leadership to his peers by doing the right thing. Ivan is one of the most polite and respectful students I have this year. Other students see him doing his work which in turns makes them do their work. He will help anyone needing assistance in the shop. He always asks me if I need any help. He will be testing in a few weeks to get another welding certification. I am going to miss him next year when he is off to college. Ivan plans to attend UT Austin and pursuing a degree in computer science.
