UIL District One Act Play Results and Thank Yous

From Mrs. Brandenburg, BETC Director:

On Tuesday, March 5th the Burnet High School theatre department and BETC hosted the UIL District 24 4A One Act Play Competition. This truly was a school wide effort and we have many people to thank for helping us have a successful day. Thank you to the fine arts teachers for allowing other schools to use their rooms and relocate for the day, to the administration for scheduling, logistics, and support, to Mrs. Clinton and theatre students for helping run backstage, to the BETC parents for working concessions and ticket sales, and to Mrs. Warwick and the culinary department for providing an excellent catered meal for directors and judges. Everyone did an amazing job and there were so many compliments about our students, staff, and facilities. We look forward to hosting the UIL Bi-District One Act Play on March 21st. Thank you all for demonstrating to other schools what Spirit, Pride, and Honor truly means at Burnet High School.

The BETC performance of their UIL One Act Play, Still Life With Iris, did an amazing job garnering several individual awards and excellent ratings from the judges. The individual awards are listed below. We ended up in a 4 way tie for 2nd place, which takes the process down to decimal points, which unfortunately did not go in our favor. The students performed beautifully and we hope that you will join us for the public performance of this play on Tuesday, March 26th at 7 PM.
