From Coach Kristen Atwood:
This past weekend Burnet Cheerleading competed in two competitions.
On Saturday both BHS and BMS traveled to Lake Belton High School for the Showdown at the Lake. BMS took home the top band chant for their game day routine. BHS faced adversity with having to add an alternate into their routine and change some choreography an hour before competing. No awards were given out for the high school division but valuable judges feedback was noted for the upcoming UIL Spirit State Championship.
On Sunday both schools traveled to San Antonio for the NCA regional championship. Cheerleading is a very subjective sport and you never know what the judges at different competitions are looking for. BHS made the changes needed to place in the top 10. BMS took first place in both of their performance and game day divisions.
Both teams will keep making adjustments before competing again on December 30th at Lago Vista Invitational.
Lastly, BHS will compete at the UIL Spirit State Championship on January 5th.
