This morning (10/24/23) the Cross Country teams competed in the Region 3-4A meet.
The girl's team had a phenomenal performance, with 2 of our 7 seven runners not being able to complete the race. The other 5 stepped up and ran with nothing but heart and for their teammates. The girl's team placed 4th overall and WILL BE ADVANCING TO THE STATE MEET!
The Boy's team gave all that they had and represented Burnet well but, they came up short placing 7th out of 24 teams. VICTOR AVILES placed 2nd overall and ISAIAS ZARATE placed 8th overall. Both of these boys will be joining the girls at the STATE MEET!
To say that we are proud is an understatement. This group of student-athletes is truly something special, they compete fearlessly, and they run with grit and a ton of heart. They are perfect examples of SPIRIT, PRIDE, and HONOR and we could not be happier with their performances on and off the course so far this season.
Girl's team members are Asah Roy, Abby Bennight, Amelia Griffin, Brooke Bowman, Kaycie Banton, Adriana Briggs, Marissa Aviles, Halle Maxwell, Josie McDavid, and, Haylie Bartlett.
Boy's team members are Victor Aviles, Isaias Zarate, Gustavo Vega-Palacios, Hector Vega-Palacios, Miguel Valdez, Josvanny Ramirez, Hays Bennett, Matthew Resendez, and, Andrew Resendez.

The State meet will take place on Saturday, November 4th. The girls will race at 11:40 AM and the boys will race at 12:10 PM.
