From Mr. Cox:
The following band students earned a first division at the UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest:
Emma Collins - French Horn
Kaycie Banton - Percussion
Lauren Jones - Percussion
Caity Williams - Percussion
Caity Williams also earned a second division on her piano solo at state.
We do not require band students to participate in this contest. These students chose to go above and beyond the typical rigors of participation in band. It should also be noted that they prepared their solos almost entirely on their own and they had to play their solo fully memorized.
