Burnet tennis hosted the Mustangs 9/29 in the semifinal round of the district tournament. Last week's close match led to expectations of another exciting evening of tennis--and the athletes didn't disappoint!
In the doubles round of play, Burnet won all 3 girls doubles contests and the #2 boys line. Leading 4-3 going into singles play meant the Bulldogs needed to pick up an extra singles win compared to last week. As the evening went on, both teams had some success and Burnet was sitting at a 9-6 lead with 4 matches still in play on the court. With a win on the number 3 boys line, the Bulldogs secured the final match necessary and won the overall contest 10-6!
We will play for a district championship on Tuesday afternoon (10/4) against Lago Vista. The matches will be here in Burnet at 4pm.
