I am very excited to present to you two outstanding students chosen by the math department of Burnet HS. I met Jennifer and Brett in August and I clearly see why their past math teachers chose to recognize them.
Jennifer Suarez is immersing herself in the academic world of Dual Credit and AP courses in preparation for her future plans of majoring in Pharmacology at the University of Texas at Austin. She is involved with AVID, the Health Science Practicum Team and the UIL Spelling Team. With a heavy course load and extracurriculars, Jennifer is proud of the work she puts in to maintaining a class rank in the top 10%.
Academically, Brett Nelson is also focusing on Dual Credit and AP Courses as he prepares for a degree in Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M or Texas Tech. Brett is a proud member of the 2022 State Champion UIL Social Studies team. He has been inducted into the National Honor Society, participates in SPH and the Interact Club, and is a member of the drumline.
Both students are dedicated to learning and representing Burnet High School in the best way possible.
