Burnet High School Interact is proud to present Katelynn Massey as the May Rotary Student of the Month!

Katelynn is a four year member of Interact and Vice-President/Communications of the BHS Interact Club this year.

Katelynn exemplifies “service above self” in her ability not only to be successful but to make those around her successful as well.  She is a leader in every sense of the word. She not only identifies where help is needed, but also puts in the hard work and long hours to make it a success. Katelynn has been in NHS for two years, three years on Varsity Volleyball (Academic All District three years), Varsity Soccer for three years (Academic All State her Senior Year; 1st Team All District her Junior and Senior year), two years in band, and on the Principal’s Advisory Committee.

Katelynn has excelled in the Health Science program at BHS. She has been a student for three years and a member of HOSA, including being Reporter her junior year and President her senior year. She placed 1st in Physical Therapy at Area competition and 10th Place at HOSA state competition this year! Katelynn successfully obtained her State of Texas Nurse Aide Certification during the spring 2021 semester.

Katelynn’s generosity and concern for others isn’t limited to school.  As Interact Vice-President, she has been instrumental in community service activities such as the annual Salvation Army Kettle Campaign, Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, MLK Day of Service, and Soles4Souls.

She has also participated and organized canned food drives for LACare, organized blood drives for We Are Blood , and volunteers every third Sunday in the 2nd/3rd grade Sunday school class at HCF. Katelynn has volunteered at the Girls and Boys Club of Burnet and has an unpaid internship with a Physical Therapy clinic in Marble Falls.

Katelynn and her unwavering dedication to her fellow students, Burnet High School, and the Burnet Community truly exemplifies “Service above Self”!
