Computer Science Teacher

Greetings!  My name is David Trower and I am from the Waco area, graduating from Midway High School.  My wife, Brianna, and I have been married for 14 years and we have four cats: a Russian Blue (Russia Tzar Alexander), a Ragdoll (Princess Babushka), a grey tabby (Tzarina Tatiana), and an orange tabby (Duchess Tigritsa).  My wife has been teaching Spanish at BHS since the 2014-2015 school year. I am incredibly excited to embark on my second year of teaching at Burnet High School and my ninth year overall in education. Prior to joining Burnet High School, I had the privilege of teaching at McLennan Community College and Texas State Technical College where I taught web development and computer programming courses. Outside the classroom, I am also an active volunteer with Royal Rangers, a mentoring organization for boys and young men. Beyond my professional engagements, I have diverse interests that include cooking and baking. Interestingly, numerous individuals, including complete strangers, have encouraged me to open a bakery due to my culinary skills. Reading is a relaxing pastime for me, aligning well with Burnet High School's initiative to enhance literacy within the BHS community. I enjoy having music playing in the background listening to varied genres like classical melodies, showtunes, oldies from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, as well as instrumental pop. When at home, I enjoy putting on a vinyl record and being an active listener to the music.  Additionally, I am an avid genealogist who dedicates time to researching my family history. My creative pursuits extend to building websites and creating graphic design elements. In the evenings, I can be found watching crime and baking shows or listening to true crime podcasts.
