Principal's Message

BHS students have been participating in a district wide program called Leader In Me.  This curriculum focuses on Franklin Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens.  First semester consisted of teaching Habit 1:  Be Proactive & Habit 2: Begin With the End In Mind.  Weekly lessons include small group discussions, goal setting, and taking time for self evaluation & reflection.  Throughout this Spring, students will be learning how to prioritize, think positively, seek first to understand then be understood, work together, and sharpen their skills.

We invite families to partner with us and see how your students have been building themselves up to be more effective leaders. We are excited about the positive impact this learning has already had on our students and campus.

Howdy! I am proud to call Burnet my home and to be a Burnet Bulldog. During my time as principal at Burnet High School, I have seen a wonderful culture of Spirit, Pride, and Honor develop and am so proud of the staff and students for all of their accomplishments - most recently the increase in student achievement on ELA and Math EOC assessments. I hold a Mathematics degree from the University of Texas and an Educational Leadership degree form Sul Ross.  I have served consecutive terms as the chair of the Austin Community College Tech Prep Board and am currently servicing as Region 13 Board Member on the Texas Association of Secondary Principals Board. I work to serve all teachers and students' best academic interests and needs by ensuring that state-of-the-art programs and opportunities are in place at Burnet High School. Together, we are Crafting the Future - a future of Spirit, Pride, and Honor.
