Lights, Camera, Action!!!
Welcome to the Theatre Department at Burnet High School! My name is Amanda Brandenburg and I am the Theatre director at Burnet High School. I teach Theatre Arts 1, Theatre Arts 2 - 4, Technical Theatre 1, Technical Theatre 2-4, and BETC. I have 20 years of teaching experience and this is my 15th year teaching in Burnet. My hometown is Brackettville, Texas and I graduated from Brackett High School. After high school, I obtained a Bachelor's degree from Texas Lutheran University in Theatre Arts and Speech Communication. Then, I attended Kansas State University and obtained a Master's degree in Theatre Arts, specializing in Directing, while I was also a teaching assistant for the university. Upon graduation, I started my high school teaching career, which ultimately brought me to the wonderful Burnet CISD.
My husband and I are excited to live and work in the Burnet community! We have a 5 year old daughter named Robyn who is attending Kindergarten this year and ready to be a BULLDOG! We also have two dogs named Cheddar and Lizzy.
Some of my hobbies include going to see lots of live theatre, reading, watching movies, walking the dogs, and attempting to garden. I love shoes, especially sneakers, and my favorite kind of candy is Peanut M&M's.
My goal this year is to give you the best lessons possible and to foster a love and respect for Theatre. I want my students to get better year after year so this year will be filled with educational opportunities that will guide the student's growth. I love Theatre and look forward to the fun we will have exploring and learning!
