¡Bienvenidos a Español!-Coach Hairston

¡Hola! My name is Simon Hairston, and I am excited to share my passion for the Spanish language and culture with my students. I believe that learning another language opens doors to new opportunities, perspectives, and connections worldwide.

I have been teaching Spanish for 19 years, and I enjoy helping students build their confidence step by step—whether they’re learning basic greetings or holding full conversations. My classroom is a welcoming place where students can take risks, make mistakes, and grow as learners.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's of Fine Arts-Spanish Tarleton State University 2006, Master's Educational Technology-Boise State University 

• 18 years of secondary teaching and coaching internationally and in Texas

• I strive to make Spanish fun, interactive, and meaningful. My goal is for every student to see language learning not just as memorization, but as a skill that connects them to real people and cultures.

Outside the Classroom

When I'm not teaching Spanish, you will find me coaching cross country or track at Burnet High School. I also enjoy exercising and staying active with my fiancé, Shelby. When given the opportunity, I enjoy traveling and seeing the world!
