About Me - Joseph Canicatti

Hi there!

I just moved to Burnet in the summer of '24 and this year will be my first year as a Burnet Bulldog. I'm excited to experience all this Spirit, Pride, and Honor I keep hearing about! 

This is my eleventh year as a high school teacher. Before that I taught at Florida International University as an adjunct professor. I worked on my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at FIU in English and English Literature. During most of that time, I was employed as a Writing Lab tutor.

I've been with my wife for 16 years. We just moved from Houston after being there for a decade, and before that we lived in Miami, Florida together. I'm originally from Miami - so if I ever seem weird that's why. My Texan wife has been showing me the ropes - I might just be a slow learner sometimes.
