My name is Kaylyn Groves and I teach in the In-School-Suspension (ISS) classroom. I have 18 years of formal teaching experience, 14 of those years in Special Education.
I moved to Texas from Illinois 23 years ago and cemented my allegiance to Texas by attending Central Texas College, Texas Tech University, and LeTourneau University to complete my teaching certification. I am proud to call myself a Texan! I have four children, 10 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren who are scattered over 4 states and Canada. In my spare time I enjoy playing with my chickens, flowers, doing some yard work, reading and a craft called Diamond Art.
ISS is an extension of the regular classroom where students can rethink their actions and keep up with their school work. They need to come to ISS ready to work and bring their supplies such as: paper, pencils, and a Book of Choice. Teachers will supply daily work, and I will turn it in to the teacher's mailbox at the end of the day.
I will be in the classroom every period except 2nd period. You can email me at
[email protected] or extension 2518.
