From Joe Cox, Director of Bands:
The Burnet Esprit De Corps hosted the Region 32 UIL Marching Contest this past Saturday at Bulldog Stadium. The EDC boosters did an amazing job running a fantastic marching contest and helped the EDC get on and off the field with all of our front drops, back drops, scaffolding, and ladders. The students had their best performance so far this year earning first division from all three judges! This achievement qualifies the EDC to move on to the UIL Area D Marching Contest. They will compete at Area in Pflugerville on November 2nd.
We are also proud to announce that the 2023 Burnet HS Wind Ensemble recently learned that we were a National Winner in the 2024 Mark of Excellence National Competition. While we have been commended for the past three years, this is the first time that Burnet has ever been named a National Winner which is the highest honor bestowed through this contest. The Burnet Wind Ensemble was one of two bands in our classification to earn this honor.
