Congratulations Julia Jenkins, Rotary Student of the Month!

From Kristen Atwood, Varsity Cheer Coach -

I am honored to nominate Julia Jenkins as Rotary Student of the Month.

Julia has distinguished herself to be an amazing leader at Burnet High School.  Julia  is a captain for the Burnet High School varsity cheer squad.  She led BHS cheer to the top award at NCA camp this past summer, the coveted Spirit Megaphone.  Along with two team herkie awards, three superior blue ribbons and she was nominated for All-American.  I am extremely proud of her and excited to see her lead this team on the sidelines and on the competition mat this year.

Along with cheer, Julia works at Mojo Coffee and is on the yearbook staff at BHS. She is able to balance the demands of school, cheerleading, a part time job along with capturing memories at different school events to share with classmates. Julia has also been a member of the BHS dive team.  Her freshman and sophomore years she was 2nd in district and 3rd in regionals. Adding to her dive accomplishments includes a 4th place finish at state her sophomore year.

After graduation Julia plans to attend Jesus Image, a ministry school in Orlando, Florida.  After ministry school Julia would like to become a doctor of chiropractic medicine at Parker University in Dallas, TX.

I am confident that Julia will be able to achieve all of her goals and dreams.  She is an amazing student, athlete and leader.  It has been a privilege for me to work with this talented young woman.  I can't wait to see where she goes from here.
