The Burnet Tennis team hosted our second district match vs. Academy on Thursday. Academy came out swinging confidently and showed why they won 18 matches against Lago Vista last week. In the end, Academy won all their matches sweeping us 19-0. It was really good experience to face such strong opposition. There were a lot of coaching points on fundamentals to go over. Our team never gave up and showed great tenacity. We are seeing great leadership from our top 4. Robyn Massey and Alex Burns fight hard in every match and are making improvements each week. We are also seeing the same from our boys as Callen Smith and Luke Suchomel are competing at a high level. We also recently added Jason Kennedy to the team and he competed well for his first match of the season.
Another highlight was freshman Isaac Vega-Palacios who literally was playing his first singles match ever for JV. He took the only win of the night for the Bulldogs! He is learning very quickly and has a knack for the game.
