Burnet Volleyball Update 8/31

This week has been a busy one for our BHS Lady Dawgs! We hosted Florence, Liberty Hill Legacy Ranch 9th and Llano and our Varsity completed their final tournament of the season. The 9th and JV teams had a great week, earning two wins at home! The Varsity girls got their groove back, going 6-1 this week! They dominated against Florence on Tuesday, then turned around and picked up two more wins against La Vega and Little River Academy on Thursday at the Little River Bumblebee Classic. Friday, we hosted a tough Llano program and our girls played the best 75 points they have played this season, winning in 3 sets! On Saturday, we traveled back to LR Academy to compete in the Gold Bracket. The Lady Dawgs defeated La Vega again, but fell short in a 3 set battle to Salado. That put us in the 3rd place game, where our girls defeated Little River Academy again. 

I am so proud of how our girls are competing and getting better each week! We will all be back at home on Tuesday, hosting Fredericksburg. Our 9th and JV teams will travel to Wimberley for the TEXFEST tournament and all three teams will be in Wimberley on Friday for a regular season match. 

I would also like to brag on these girls and their servant hearts! Not only are they working hard on the court and keeping up with their classwork, they are giving back to our younger students! On Friday, the Varsity team got up early to greet the kiddos at Shady Grove and RJ Richey. On Friday night, all of our 9th, JV and Varsity girls (and managers) participated in Middle School Night, welcoming our BMS Volleyball Players with a sweet letter and token of kindness! This could not have been done without our amazing parents who help get everything set up and made special for our middle school volleyball players. We are so blessed in our small town to be able to feel like one family!
