Last Friday (3/1/24), our Lady Dawg soccer team celebrated 16 amazing seniors. These girls have done so much for this program and we are so proud of them, and can't wait to see what they do in their next chapter, but for now we are so glad they are here! We got a 5-1 win over Lago on Senior night. Amelia Griffin had 2 goals, Kaycie Banton had 2 goals and Savannah Griffin had a goal. Brook Oliva had 2 assists, Haylie Bartlett, Taylor Petty, and Ari Chavez all contributed with an assist. This put the Lady Dawgs 10-0 in district!
Last night (3/5/24) we made the trip over to Gateway. We needed a tie or a win to ensure a district championship. Gateway is tied for 2nd so came out hot leading us 2-0. The Lady Dawgs kept fighting and came back to tie it up 2-2 in the last 15 minutes. Savannah Griffin and Marisa Aviles scored our 2 goals and they were assisted by Brook Oliva and Kaycie Banton. These girls NEVER stopped fighting and it showed. We lost in PKS 5-4, but with the tie was able to snag a district championship 2 years in a row! Playoff info to come later on!!
We have one district game left VS Marble Falls and it is our LAST HOME game of the season on Friday (3/8/24)!! We would love to have the stands full of Green, as this is always a fun game. Our concession stand will be serving up homemade street tacos! Come out, wear green and be loud!!
