From Coach McIntosh:
Thursday (2/15/24) we took 13 girls and 12 boys to the San Saba Powerlifting Invitational. Our Boys team placed 3rd overall with Luke Hudgins, Brady Rygaard, and Jack VanAartsen each winning their weight class. Brady and Jack also took home Top Lifter awards for the Light and Heavy platforms! Our Girls team placed 1st overall! Alexis Leatherwood and Maddy Cardenas both won their weight class as well! We had multiple lifters place in the top 5 of their weight classes Thursday night, earning team points and medals! Coach Hicks and myself are extremely proud of how our athletes competed yesterday, and look forward to seeing them improve over the next few weeks. This meet was a last chance qualifier meet for the girls. We will know who made it out to the Regional Meet March 1st in Dublin, Texas, sometime Monday afternoon. The boys team will have one more week to qualify for Regionals before their Regional Meet in Gatesville on March 9th. Below are the results from yesterday, and where everyone placed in their respective weight classes.
