Congratulations to the BHS Students of the Month for October, MaeSyn Gay and Grant Jones!

Senior class president, National Honor Society vice-president, Student Council vice-president. MaeSyn Gay is all of these things and more. MaeSyn is a leader all over the BHS campus. She dominates on the volleyball and basketball courts, participates in a class discussion, and volunteers in the community; MaeSyn is leading by example. She encourages teammates and classmates to push themselves. She is an active member of the Spirit Pride Honor group and is the recipient of the Masonic Lodge honesty and integrity award. She proves that adversity is surmountable, overcoming a knee injury during her junior year and returning to the court this fall. MaeSyn’s smile lights up a room and, while we’ll miss seeing her in the hallway, we know she will thrive in college and beyond. It is for these reasons, and so many more, that the English department nominates MaeSyn Gay as the student of the month.

Grant Jones is a wonderfully well-rounded student. He is an outstanding athlete, a high-achieving student, a member of SPH, a talented artist, and a self-proclaimed grill master. Grant leads at BHS on and off the field and that has been recognized by teachers, coaches, and classmates alike. Whether he is dominating on the field and track, perfecting an essay in class, or achieving the perfect sear on a steak, you can bet Grant is doing so with determination and a smile. We can’t wait to see what he does next. The English department is happy to choose Grant Jones as one of our students of the month.
