On Thursday evening, the Bulldog tennis team took on Marble Falls with 2nd place in the district on the line. It was a great dual match with an extremely tight finish with the match not being decided until the final match in a third set tie breaker! Unfortunately, Marble Falls eked out the win 10-9.
After doubles play, the Mustangs had the 4-3 lead. Singles play ended up in an even split with all six of the Burnet girls winning their individual matches and all six of the Marble Falls boys winning their matches. Despite the split, the dual wasn't decided until the final boys match which went all the way down to the wire tied at 9-9 in the third set tie breaker.
The loss means that Bulldog tennis goes into the district tournament seeded third and will once again play Marble Falls next Thursday. The Bulldogs are playoff bound, however, with the tournament deciding our seeding going into the bi-district round!
