Congratulations to our BHS Students of the Month, Kaycie Banton and Brady Rygaard!

Kaycie Banton is pure joy and sweetness and she is one of the hardest working students at BHS. She pours her soul into everything she does, and does it with a smile. She genuinely cares about others, asks the best, weirdest questions and she is going to do great things in her life. Kaycie is a varsity soccer co-captain where she has been an integral part of their historic number of wins the last few years. She is also a varsity cross country runner, front ensemble section leader in band where she was awarded the Outstanding Performer Award at the State Solo and Ensemble competition last year. She is also the NHS President, Interact Vice-President, Student Body President, an SPH leader, and a member of the very decorated UIL Social Studies Team. After high school, Kaycie hopes to attend Texas A&M University to major in Biology and minor in Business in order to pursue a career in dentistry. After she becomes a dentist, she hopes to own her own practice as well as travel around with non-profit organizations that offer free dental care to underserved populations.

Brady is a hard worker who strives for excellence in all that he does. He is a deep thinker and a wonderful problem solver often coming up with different ways to solve problems than what is presented to him. Brady is a member of the National Honor Society, competes in powerlifting where he has been a regional qualifier multiple times, and pole vaults for the track team. Last year he qualified for state where he ended up placing 6th in class 4A. After high school Brady hopes to continue his pole vault career at the collegiate level. He hopes to attend Corpus Christi A&M where he plans on pursuing a degree in either Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
