Each month, our BHS club/organization sponsors select a Rotary Student of the Month that exemplifies Service Above Self. The BHS Rotary Student of the Month for September is Helaina Weiss. She was recognized at the Rotary Club meeting on September 6th.
Service over self is a core value that is strongly evident in the FFA organization. Helaina Weiss is a true example of service above self within the Burnet FFA. She has been a part of FFA since her freshman year of high school and takes every opportunity to assist those around her. Whether it is helping teachers after school or helping her peers prepare for contests and stock shows, she is always finding ways to give to others before they even ask for assistance. Helaina herself is a busy individual, serving as a chapter and Area VII FFA Officer, showing animals and competing in multiple FFA events. She often leads the community service projects within the chapter and is always finding ways to give back to others. Though her time is spread thin, she ensures that the business and people in her life are taken care of.
