This past weekend, the Lady Dawg Varsity Team competed in the Little River Academy Bumblebee Classic Tournament. Games started on Thursday and our girls defeated Little River Academy and Chilton to earn their ticket to the Gold Bracket! Saturday morning started off against Thrall at 10am and our girls battled against a great Thrall team that had defeated us last week. The Lady Dawgs pulled out the close win in three sets. That moved us into the semi-final game against district opponent, Georgetown Gateway. We knew it would be a tough match because we know what Gateway has and that they are a talented team. It took three sets, but our Lady Dawgs got the WIN! We met up with Little River Academy again in the championship game and they played extremely better than they had on Thursday. Our Lady Dawgs were focused and committed to doing whatever it took to get the job done and come home as Champions! It was a long day, leaving at 7 am and getting home at 10 pm, but our girls took care of business! Winning a tournament has been on the goal board for a while and the girls are finally checking that one off!
All three teams will travel to Taylor on Tuesday: 9th/JV starts at 5 and Varsity will follow around 6 pm. We will all play at home on Friday against Wimberley at 5 and 6. We would love to have you there!
