The Burnet High School UIL Academics Team competed in the Class 4A State UIL Meet on Wednesday and Thursday at the University of Texas Austin campus.
Jennifer Suarez got the medal collection going early as she earned the 4A Bronze medal in Spelling and Vocabulary! That capped off her senior year in which she won multiple gold medals in invitational tournaments, a district championship individual and team gold, and a bronze medal individual and team trophy at the Region 3-4A meet. Please congratulate Jennifer on an outstanding year when you see her in the hallways!
The Social Studies team composed of Brett Nelson, Claire Teague, Aedan McLennan and Cayden Beatty came into the meet as the defending champions from 2022. Brett Nelson won the 4A Gold medal and is the state champion individual. Claire Teague finished 4th and Aedan McLennan finished 5th. They had an awesome run the last 4 years. 3 straight district and regional championships, 3 state meet appearances, 1 runner up trophy and a state championship. Please congratulate Hunter Hobbs for an outstanding effort from him and his team.

Congratulations to Elijah on being the District Gold medalist and Region 3-4A Bronze medalist and a state qualifier in his first year of competing. He is coached by KK McLeod.
