UIL Academics Teams and Individuals qualify for the State Meet in Austin!

From Mr. Walzel:
The Burnet High School UIL Academic teams competed in the UIL Region 3-4A meet in Nacogdoches at Stephen F. Austin State University on Saturday. Team winners and the top 3 individuals in each event qualify for the UIL State Meet in Austin on May 17-18.
 
Elijah Tait earned a bronze medal in Ready Writing with his essay and qualified for the state meet.

The Spelling & Vocabulary team finished with a bronze medal led byJennifer Suarez who earned a bronze medal as an individual and will compete at the state meet. Team members also include Alaina Clark, Katie Bronaugh, and Emily Moreno. Congratulations to the spellers on a great effort.
 
The Social Studies team of Brett Nelson, Claire Teague, Aedan McLennan and Cayden Beatty won the team gold, and Brett, Claire and Aedan swept gold, silver and bronze in the individual score. They will defend their state title in Austin next month. Congratulations to Hunter Hobbs and his Social Studies team!
 
The Current Issues & Events team also swept the top 4 individual places with Grace Gates winning gold, Tatum Salinas silver, Hayden Brown with bronze and Wrigley Mulhollan finishing in 4th. They boat raced the rest of the region and will also defend their state title next month in Austin. Congratulations to Clint Mulhollan and his team!
 
The Academic team as a whole finished 3rd out of 52 teams in the overall team sweepstakes.
