Hayden Brown has been selected as the UIL Academic choice for Rotary Club Student of the Month. Hayden was selected for his outstanding efforts in UIL Academics as both an individual and team player. He has been a 4 year member of the Cross Examination Debate team, a two time district champion in CX, a 2 time state qualifier in CX Debate culminating with a 5th place finish this year with his debating partner Grace Gates in the 4A State CX Debate Championships at the University of Texas last month. Two weeks ago Hayden was the individual gold medalist at the District 24-4A meet and led the team to a gold medal in Current Issues & Events. Hayden will once again compete at the Region 3 Academic meet to be held on the campus at Stephen F Austin State University in Nacogdoches later this month in a quest to return to the UIL State Academic meet in mid May where he hopes to lead the Current Issues team to back to back state championships. Hayden will graduate from Burnet High School as a top 10 student from a class of 266 seniors, and he plans on attending the University of Texas in Austin as government major in the Liberal Arts Honors Program with the goal of attending law school and becoming a criminal defense attorney. He is the proud son of Trey and Suzanne Brown.
