Bulldogs host Tennis Tournament and win medals!

On Thursday, March 2, the Bulldogs hosted eleven teams for our JV tennis tournament. Despite a late start due to rain and wet courts, play went smoothly for the remainder of the day. All Burnet participants were able to notch a win during the tournament. Alex Burns, after weeks of steady improvement, finally got over the hump, made the semifinals, and was able to walk away with the bronze medal!

Friday's varsity portion of the tournament saw much better weather and a whole bunch of tennis. Nine schools returned on Friday. Again, all of our athletes were able to win at least one match on the day. Alex Davis and Kendall Bible narrowly missed out on third place, losing two heart breaking, 3-set matches to teams from Leander Glenn. Cam Stires and Christina Graves won their 3-set match in the semifinals and were able to close out the finals with a second set tiebreaker to win first place in the mixed doubles competition! Continuing their winning ways were Tatum Salinas and Aly Van Zandt, staying undefeated for the year, and taking first for the 6th week in a row!

Next week all teams will travel to Leander to participate in tournaments on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
