We are excited to announce the 2022-2023 BHS Teacher of the year, Mrs. Caity Clinton!!! Mrs. Clinton, thank you for your service to our school and community and for being the embodiment of Spirit, Pride, and Honor!

All right, so we've got Esprit de Corps out here, the Dettes and the band. Esprit de Corps means a feeling of pride, fellowship, and common loyalty shared by the members of a particular group. In another definition of the phrase, honor is used. I share that because the words of the person I am thinking about ... hang on one second guys. Bear with me, don't lose focus. I'll tell you what I'm doing. I don't know if y'all know this about me or not. I'm just going to go off script here. I've got a visual disability. l don't read well, so I'm just going to talk little bit. Guys, Esprit de Corps ... in that phrase there's pride and honor and spirit in different definitions of that phrase and when I was thinking about that today, thinking about the amazing job that Esprit de Corps did, and Cheer, Hayden and Claire last minute put this together so that we can celebrate this group down here on the ground, I thought of a special person that really Spirit, Pride and Honor always comes to mind and thought this is a good opportunity to also celebrate that person today. That person is a teacher here at Burnet High School who pours leadership and love into their students every single day beyond just teaching students leadership and all of the skills of life that would be a buffet that would rival even Highlander, responsibility, grit, determination ... all of those qualities that are going to set you up for success, they also consistently teach at the distinguished level of the TTESS rubric. I know y'all don't know that, but TTESS is something that gives teachers anxiety every year because it's how they're evaluated, and the highest level is distinguished. It's hard to hit that mark time and time and time again. Beyond just doing that in the classroom, this person pours into our entire community, all of the campuses in our district, and specifically coming up this Monday, they plan the activities for the whole district for Martin Luther King Day in the Day of Service. This person is so fitting that they plan that because they honor Dr. King every single day in their life. This person is a true example of Spirit, Pride and Honor in the way that they live their life Christ-like. You may know who I'm talking about but before I announce it, I want to invite up Mr. Tres Clinton to help me make this presentation. I'm not sure where he is. He might be landing his plane somewhere on the property. Here he is, coming down there. All right, so y'all can do so much better than that ... Burnet High School give it up for the 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Caity Clinton!!! Congratulations! When we recognize students of the month, we always ask them to answer a couple questions and give a speech, so... speech from Mrs. Clinton... no, I'm just kidding, congratulations!
