Burnet CC Regional Results 10/24/22

The boys and girls CC teams competed Monday, 10/24 at the Region III CC Championships in Huntsville, TX. We are really proud of the effort all of our kids gave and are excited to announce the results.

Four time Regional champion HUDSON BENNETT completed his sweep of regional championships in a blistering 15:18. His time bettered the 6A winner today by 12 seconds. It has been a privilege to witness this young man compete for the last four years and have mixed emotions about watching him run his last high school race at the state meet in nine days.

Running in his first state meet will be sophomore VICTOR AVILES who finished 5th overall with a time of 16:21.

Our final state qualifier also making her first state appearance will be freshman ASAH ROY who battled for a 4th place finish in a time of 12:23.

Considering ability, academics and humility, Burnet will be very well represented at the state meet on Friday, November 4, at 8:30 and 9:00.

In the team results our girls gave tremendous effort but came up one place shy of qualifying for the state meet. Seniors CAROLINE VALENCIA and AUTUMN STIRES ran their best races of the year to help our team to a 5th place finish out of 23 teams.

The boys are young and excited and faired better than expected taking the 10th team spot out of 24 teams.

This is a grueling sport with not much glamour and I want to commend these athletes for their hard work and dedication to making our program better this season.

Thanks for reading and GO BULLDOGS and LADY DAWGS!!
