The Burnet High School Swim & Dive Team performed hard this past Friday, October 14th 2022 at our Home Local Invitational Swim/Dive Meet. The swimmers faced 3 other teams; Liberty Hill, Leander Glenn and Wimberley High School while the divers went head to head against Liberty Hills diving team. Everyone gave it their all with many finishing with best times or highest scores for the season, we are so proud to share the results with you!
The Combined Final Scores:
1st Place= Liberty Hill High School with 747 points total
2nd Place= Burnet High School with 684 points total
3rd Place= Leander Glenn High School with 318 points total
4th Place= Wimberley High School with 215 points total
The Girls Team:
-Our Female Dawgs fought hard and finished 2nd overall for the women's scores.
-The girls 200 Medley Relay came in 2nd with their fastest time this season so far swam by Elyzabeth Musiak, Graciela Lara Duran, Brynlie Tappe and Isabel Lunsford.
-Brynlie Tappe placed 2nd in the 200 Freestyle while having a best time!
-Isabel Lunsford finished 1st in the 100 Butterfly!
-Graciela Lara Duran placed 3rd in the 100 Freestyle!
-Brynlie Tappe dropped 4 seconds from her best time in the 100 Freestyle!
-Isabel Lunsford finished 1st in the 500 Freestyle!
-The girls 200 Freestyle Relay came in 2nd with their fastest time breaking 2 minutes swam by Graciela Lara Duran, Elyzabeth Musiak, Caroline Lunsford and Isabel Lunsford.
The girls worked for every point gained and finished with an outstanding 268 Points!
The Boys Team:
-Our Boy's Team came away winning with the highest score of 416, clearly establishing them as the Top Dawgs!
-The boys A 200 Medley Relay came in 1st swam by Hayden Brown, Alexander Davis, Mason Hughes and Hayden Hamner.
-The boys B 200 Medley Relay came in 3rd swam by Jacob Decker, Grant Roberts, Mason Roberts and Bryce Schwausch.
-Grant Roberts finished 2nd in the 200 Freestyle, consistently dropping time!
-Levi Kleen came in 3rd in the 200 Freestyle!
-Mason Hughes placed 2nd in the 200 IM!
-Mason Roberts came in 1st in the 100 Butterfly, the first time he has swam this event!
-Hayden Brown finished 1st in the 100 Freestyle!
-Grant Roberts placed 2nd in the 100 Feelstyle breaking 1 minute by 2 seconds!
-Bryce Schwausch finished 2nd in his 500 Freestyle and broke 6 minutes with a final time of 5:58.77!
-The boys A 200 Freestyle Relay came in 1st swam by Hayden Brown, Grant Roberts, Hayden Hamner and Mason Hughes.
-The boys B 200 Freestyle Relay came in 3rd swam by Alexander Davis, Mason Roberts, Levi Kleen and Bryce Schwausch.
-Hayden Brown finished 2nd in the 100 Backstroke!
The boys put up an outstanding finish with 220 points ahead of the second place boys team, amazing work boys!
The Diving Team:
-Julia Jenkins finished 1st with 172.20; her highest score of this season!
-Julia Kratwell came in 2nd with 134.85 with this meet as her 2nd high school competition ever!
-Lessa Davenport earned the most points ever and broke 100 with a final score of 106.85!
Best Performances:
-Lessa Davenport won best performance on the ladies side for her highest diving scores ever and dropping 1 second in her 50 Freestyle. Lessa stepped up to race when the girls team needed her knowing that her preference is diving but always putting the team first, showing that she knows how to be a true team player!
-Bryce Schwausch won best performance on the men's team for his outstanding swims. His 200 Freestyle was a drop of 5 seconds! He broke 30 seconds in his individual 50 Freestyle and in both Men's 200 Medley Relay & 200 Freestyle Relays proving himself as a competitor!
