Monday night, our Lady Dawgs hosted the Davenport Wolves. Our Freshman team did not hesitate to take over early and win in straight sets! Our JV team battled through two tight sets and came out on top! With lots of hustle plays, our JV girls proved they are hard to beat!
The Varsity had their hands full with a tough, defensive, hard-hitting team. After falling short the first two sets, the girls battled behind Lainey Rye's 7 service points to win set 3 (all while Davenport was at set point)! Even though we didn't come out with the win, the girls got better. When everything clicked, it was easy to see that our girls have something special. I am proud of them and the fight they have! They never back down. Player of the game goes to libero, Addie Grace Hernandez. She was flying all over the court and had the back row on lockdown!
I would also like to add that our Varsity was mentioned in the Austin American Statesman as one of the Fab 5 teams to watch! That is a pretty special shout-out!
Our Varsity girls will finish up their tournament season on Thursday and Saturday at Little River Academy. Then all three teams will be back at home on Tuesday, hosting Llano.
