BHS Choir Makes History

At 8:20 a.m., ten young ladies in the Varsity Treble choir took the stage and earned straight 1's, a "Superior" rating from the judges. Immediately following the stage these ladies entered the sight reading room and performed exceptionally well earning a 1, 2, 2 and the rating of "Excellent" based on UIL standards.These ladies made history by bringing home their first trophy, and the first UIL trophy in BHS Choir's history.
 
Later, four young men in the Tenor/Bass Choir took the stage and earned straight 1's a "Superior" rating from the judges. Immediately following the stage these men entered the sight reading room and also earned straight 1's. With these ratings, these men earned a "Superior" rating based on UIL standards and the coveted "Sweepstakes" title in UIL Concert & Sight Reading. This young men made history by being the first BHS Choir to bring home a 1st Division trophy and a "Sweepstakes."
 
These young musicians have set the bar high, and started a tradition of hard work, determination, and excellence in the choir program! Please help me in congratulating these students on their first successful UIL competition!
