Your Burnet Bulldogs competed in the Region V-5A Swim & Dive Championships this weekend at Texas A&M University. Region V-5A is one of the fastest of all 8 regions and we swam our hearts out and came away with some awesome results!
Going into prelims on Friday we had 6 relays and 5 individuals trying to qualify for finals on Saturday and be in the top 16. Not only did we see PR's left and right but all 6 relays made finals and Maczimus Griego made it in both of his individual races.
In the final team standings the Boys team placed 10th overall out of 24 and the Girls team placed 18th.
The Boys medley finished 11th (Brown, McBurnett, Horan, Bennett), girls medley relay finished 16th (La Joie, McCrory, Kirby, Billock), Maczimus Griego placed 11th overall in the 50 free with a PR 23.10, and placed 11th in100 fly with a PR 56.65, girls 200 free relay 16th (La Joie, Billock, Huston, McCrory), boys 200 free relay 8th place(championship final) PR (Griego, Horan, Behrens, Messer)(made the awards podium!), girls 400 free relay 14th (La Joie, Kirby, Huston, McCrory), boys 400 free relay 9th place PR (they won the consolation final) (Griego, Horan, Behrens, Messer) (they dropped 4 seconds from prelims to finals).
It was an exhilarating and exciting weekend, we are so proud of them and all of their hard work this year. They are an outstanding team and we got nothing but compliments on their Spirit, Pride, and Honor all weekend.
