The students got to know and sketch several VFW members and learn their stories. Two of the winners art pieces were these VFW individuals and the other one was a brother of the student. Mrs. Timmons is trying to make "patriotism" personal to the students so they are learning how to put meaning in their artwork. When the artwork is returned it will be on display in the BHS library. Judges of the contest sent notes to Mrs. Timmons and students stating the whole show of art was very difficult to judge to find the best ones.
All winners will receive a scholarship!
