Jeannette Gegogeine

About Me

My name is Jeannette Gegogeine, and I am excited for my 13th year as an educator. I am lucky to be a part of the Science department and the NHS Adviser at BHS. I am a Burnet Bulldog through and through- Class of 2007, and I am honored to teach in my hometown to give back to the school and community that empowered and shaped me. After graduating high school, I ventured to Texas A&M to obtain my B.S. in Wildlife and Fishery Sciences in 2010, then I went on to earn my Texas Teaching Certificate in 8-12 Science, 4-8 ESL Generalist, and 4-8 Generalist. After teaching for a few years, I decided to go back to school and work towards my master's degree to open the door to teach at even higher levels. I found a great program with Mississippi State University where I earned my M.S. in Biology in 2021.

Teaching Science allows me to utilize two of my greatest passions: teaching and staying in the curious world of Science. I enjoy helping students reach their dreams through their education.  An education should empower students and help him or her make a positive contribution to our world.

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." - Nelson Mandela
