Howdy!  
My name is Betty Sue Smallwood, and I am a proud teacher here at Burnet High School!  Below are facts about myself, both professional and personal, to help you get to know me just a little better.
 
*  I graduated from Falls City High School in 1984.
*  In 1987, I graduated from Texas A&M University - Whoop! 
*  The 2017-2018 school year marks my 31st year of teaching, my 18th year here at BHS!
*  In that time I have taught...
      - English grades 6-12 and middle school journalism.
      - Speech, Communication Applications, and Professional Communications.
      - Texas History and World History.  
      -  UIL Academic Speech and Debate.
*  In that time I have coached or sponsored...
      - middle school yearbook.
      - middle school newspaper
      - high school Student Council
      - high school Cheerleading
      - all UIL Speech and Debate events
*  I am currently the UIL Coordinator here at BHS and English Department Head.
*  In addition to being a teacher, I am a sister, wife, mother, aunt, and (as of April 20, 2016) Grandma!
