About Me:

Howdy y'all! Hola! My name is John Calhoun. Me llamo John Calhoun. I will be teaching Spanish 1. I was born in Burnet hospital in 1984 and graduated from Burnet High School in 2002. I married my wife Sarah (teacher at Shady Grove) in 2008. We have three kids, Mason, 15, Madelynn, 8, and Merit, 6. I worked in the oilfield most of my adult life but finally got back to my true calling, education. I'm very excited to be home and to help my community grow our youth. I enjoy fishing, food, photography, and the hill country outdoors.

Experience:

I finished my Bachelor's degree at the University of Texas-Permian Basin in 2021 and my teaching certification in 2022. I'm beginning my third year of teaching and my 39th year of learning.
