Ashley Lunsford

I attended Texas Tech University where I received a Bachelor of Science - Human Development and Family Studies with a focus on Early Childhood development. This is my 10th year of teaching.  I started my teaching career in 1999 in first grade, then moved down to kindergarten and in 2005 took some time off to raise my babies.  My babies are Isabel, a freshman at United States Merchant Marine Academy in Long Island, NY, where she will be on the swim team, and Caroline, a junior here at BHS where she is a 3rd year Highlandette and a 3rd year swimmer. I am a Burnet High School graduate, class of 1995, and was a Highlandette all four years under the direction of Mrs. Clinton’s mother!  I came back to my Alma Mater to teach 5 years ago and it has been a great experience!  I enjoy anything that has to do with a body of water - swimming, skiing, beaching, etc. Hobbies include cooking and hiking, walking, running, reading. I will be teaching in the Career and Technical Education department - the education pathway, including Principles in Education, Child Development, Counseling/Mental Health, and Practicum in Education.  I am looking forward to a great 2023/2024 school year!
