Instructions:
1. Review slide #20 on contour lines
2. On the first sheet of paper draw contour lines that represent two separate mountain peaks. You will need five lines of elevation for each peak. Each line will represent 100 feet of elevation.
3. On the second sheet of paper you will need to lightly draw six lines horizontally spaced one inch apart. Label each line as 100 feet of elevation from 100-600 feet.
4. Place the first sheet above the second sheet so that the two are aligned. Use your straight edge to mark the elevation points for the left and right edge of each peak.
5. Connect the dots in a way that will make the mountains look more realistic and not just straight lines. Once finished, color code the topographic map and your elevation view so that they line up.
